Jordan Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Magnum
Cabernet Sauvignon
Description
Jordan Wine Estate is situated in Stellenbosch between the Stellenbosch Kloof Valley and False Bay, where elevated vineyards and cooling maritime influences create ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate is known for combining precision viticulture with a measured, site-driven winemaking philosophy, producing wines that balance New World fruit expression with the structure and restraint associated with classic Bordeaux-inspired styles.
Â
Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Jordanâs flagship red wines, produced from low-yielding vineyard blocks planted on decomposed granite soils. The name reflects the wineâs slow evolution and ageing potential, with the 2014 vintage showing the benefits of extended bottle maturation. Careful oak ageing in French barrels adds structure and complexity while allowing the purity of Stellenbosch Cabernet fruit to remain central to the wineâs identity. Presented in magnum format, the wine develops even more gradually, supporting extended cellaring and refined bottle age character over time.
Â
Colour:
Deep garnet red with slight brick-red edges beginning to emerge with age.
Â
Nose:
Complex aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and dark cherry are layered with cedarwood, cigar box, graphite, dried herbs and subtle earthy spice.
Â
Palate:
Full-bodied yet composed, with finely integrated tannins and a polished texture developed through bottle age. Dark berry fruit remains vibrant, supported by savoury notes of tobacco leaf, pencil shavings and dark chocolate. The wine carries freshness and structure through the palate, giving weight without heaviness.
Â
Finish:
Long, dry and elegant, with lingering cassis, cedar and savoury mineral notes on the finish.

Jordan Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Magnum
- Food Pairing : Jordan Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Magnum pairs particularly well with richly flavoured red meat dishes where the wineâs mature tannins and savoury complexity can shine. Roast ribeye, slow-braised lamb shank or beef fillet with mushroom sauce all work beautifully, as the wineâs acidity and structure help balance the richness of the dish. Mature hard cheeses and chargrilled vegetables also complement the wineâs cedar and graphite character, making it equally suited to a long dinner table or a slower evening around the fire.
