Dornier Wine Estate sits at the foot of the Helderberg within Stellenbosch, where cooling ocean breezes meet decomposed granite soils. The setting is dramatic, but the winemaking is measured and thoughtful.
Dornier’s approach leans towards clarity and structure rather than overt extraction. Fruit is sourced from carefully selected vineyard sites across Stellenbosch to capture balance and regional character. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, with portions matured in French oak to build texture without dominating the fruit. The aim with the Cocoa Hill range is accessibility - wines that reflect Stellenbosch’s depth while remaining approachable and food-friendly.

Bright ruby red with a youthful, vibrant rim.
Nose:
Ripe red plum and black cherry lead, followed by cassis and mulberry. Subtle notes of cocoa powder, cedar, dried herbs and a hint of spice add complexity without overwhelming the fruit.
Palate:
Medium-bodied and supple, with smooth tannins and fresh acidity keeping the wine lively. The red and dark berry fruit carries through clearly, supported by gentle oak influence that brings a touch of mocha and savoury depth. Structured, yet easy to enjoy.
Finish:
Clean and moderately long, leaving lingering notes of dark fruit and soft spice.
