Produced by Bruce Jack Wines, the Reserve Stream of Consciousness is a characterful red blend inspired by the idea of allowing life, and winemaking, to unfold naturally. The wine brings together Cinsault, Shiraz and Grenache, combining the fragrant red-fruit character of Cinsault with the darker fruit and spice of Shiraz and Grenache. The grapes are harvested by hand in the early morning, when temperatures are cooler. They are destemmed, with some whole berries and whole bunches retained, before fermentation in a combination of open- and closed-top fermenters using cultivated and wild yeast. The wine is then gently pressed and matured in barrel for 12 months, adding savoury spice, vanilla and subtle oak complexity.
Colour: Deep ruby red with purple hues.
Nose: A generous, expressive nose of ripe purple plums, dark berries and chocolate, layered with vanilla, plum pudding and warm Indian spices.
Palate: Medium-bodied and richly textured, with enveloping flavours of black and red forest fruit, brambles and ripe plum. Cinsault contributes fragrance and freshness, while Shiraz and Grenache add depth, spice and a softly rounded structure.
Finish: Smooth and lingering, with notes of white pepper, vanilla and gentle oak.

Try it with Moroccan lamb, herb-crusted steak, a slow-cooked beef or lamb stew, charcuterie, or a South African braai featuring grilled meats. Its ripe plum and berry flavours complement savoury and smoky dishes, while the peppery spice and gentle oak work particularly well with herbs, warm spices and roasted flavours.
