L'Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé NV
Rose'
Description
L'Ormarins is the historic Franschhoek estate of Anthonij Rupert Wyne, with vineyards spread across cooler, higher-lying pockets of the Western Cape well suited to Cap Classique. For the Brut Classique Rosé NV, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are harvested by hand at relatively low sugar levels to preserve natural acidity and a fine, tight structure. Traditional method winemaking follows: whole-bunch pressing, secondary fermentation in bottle and extended time on the lees to build texture, complexity and a persistent mousse. The focus is on a dry, graceful style that balances red-berry fruit with citrus and biscuit notes, offering a thoroughly classical take on Cape pink bubbles that remains easy to enjoy.
Colour:
Delicate salmon pink with fine, persistent bubbles and a lively mousse.
Nose:
Red berries such as strawberry and raspberry lead, with cranberry, pomegranate and hints of citrus zest, rose petal and light brioche from lees ageing.
Palate:
Light to medium bodied with a refreshing, brisk acidity and a creamy yet finely textured mousse. Bright red berry and cherry flavours are supported by lemon and grapefruit, with a subtle pastry and biscuit note adding depth. The impression is dry, precise and lively rather than sweet, making it very food-friendly.
Finish:
Clean and refreshing, medium in length, with lingering red berry, citrus and a gentle, biscuity echo.

L'Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé NV
- Food Pairing : L'Ormarins Brut Classique Rosé NV is a versatile Cap Classique for both aperitif and food. Its crisp acidity and dry, berry-led profile make it excellent with smoked salmon blinis, oysters or a simple West Coast mussel pot, cutting through brininess and cream. It also pairs well with sushi, tempura prawns or snoek pâté on toast, where the bubbles lift richer textures. For something more substantial, try roast chicken with herbs, charcuterie and soft cheeses, or a tomato-and-mozzarella salad – the wine’s freshness and subtle savoury notes keep everything feeling light and moreish.
