Lomond Wine Estate lies near Gansbaai in the Cape Agulhas region, close to Africa’s southernmost tip. This is one of South Africa’s coolest wine-growing areas, where strong maritime influence, persistent ocean breezes and moderate temperatures allow grapes to ripen slowly while preserving acidity and aromatic detail. That climate gives Lomond wines their hallmark freshness and precision.
Lomond SSV 2024 is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Viognier, combining three varieties that each contribute something distinct: Sauvignon Blanc for brightness and lift, Sémillon for texture, and Viognier for aromatic generosity. Retail notes indicate the Sémillon and Viognier portions were matured for four months in third-fill oak barrels, adding subtle complexity without overwhelming the fruit.

Bright pale straw with green flashes.
Nose:
Fresh lime, gooseberry and white peach aromas lead, followed by hints of grapefruit zest, soft floral perfume and a gentle touch of spice.
Palate:
Light to medium-bodied with lively acidity and crisp citrus fruit at the core. The Sémillon adds a smooth mid-palate texture, while Viognier brings rounded stone-fruit notes and fragrance. Clean, energetic and layered rather than simple.
Finish:
Refreshing and persistent, ending on citrus peel, peach skin and a subtle savoury note.
