Flagstone Truth Tree Pinotage 2021

Flagstone Wines is based in Somerset West and is known for its thoughtful, narrative-driven approach to winemaking. Rather than working from a single estate, the team sources grapes from carefully selected vineyards across the Western Cape, matching each variety to the site where it performs best. This allows the wines to reflect regional character while maintaining a consistent house style built on balance and drinkability.

The Truth Tree Pinotage is named after the indigenous coral tree, traditionally a place of gathering and conversation. In the same spirit, this wine aims to be open, expressive and approachable. Oak maturation is used to add structure and depth, but never at the expense of fruit purity, resulting in a Pinotage that feels contemporary while staying true to its South African roots.

Colour: Bright ruby red with youthful clarity and depth in the glass.

Nose: Ripe cherry and dark berry aromas lead, followed by plum, cocoa powder and gentle sweet spice, with subtle savoury undertones developing as it opens.

Palate: Medium to full bodied with juicy blackberry and ripe plum at the core. Oak influence brings notes of dark chocolate and spice, while smooth, well-integrated tannins give the wine a rounded, polished texture.

Finish: Clean and lingering, with dark fruit and soft spice carrying through to a balanced, satisfying close.
