Deetlefs is one of South Africa’s oldest family-owned wine estates, with roots dating back to the early 1800s. Situated in Rawsonville within the Breedekloof valley, the estate benefits from warm summer days, cool mountain evenings and fertile alluvial soils that help ripen aromatic varieties while retaining freshness.

The Soet Hanepoot 2023 is a classic Cape dessert wine style, crafted from hand-harvested Hanepoot grapes. Gentle skin contact helps extract perfume and flavour before fortification and maturation build richness and complexity.

Nose:
Lifted aromas of muscat grape, rose water, litchi, honey and ripe apricot rise immediately from the glass.
Palate:
Lusciously sweet yet balanced, with flavours of honeyed stone fruit, Turkish delight, grape preserve and soft citrus. The texture is smooth and generous, while fresh acidity prevents heaviness and keeps the wine lively.
Finish:
Long and fragrant, finishing with lingering honey, floral spice and apricot richness.
