Deetlefs Wine Estate is situated in Rawsonville in the Breedekloof valley, where vineyards are framed by mountains and benefit from warm sunshine, cool night temperatures and fresh airflow through the valley. These conditions are ideal for Sauvignon Blanc, helping the grapes develop ripe flavour while preserving natural acidity and bright aromatics. Deetlefs is one of South Africa’s oldest family-owned wine estates, bringing generations of vineyard knowledge to a modern, practical winemaking style.
The Stonecross range focuses on approachable wines with clear varietal character and everyday drinkability. For the 2025 vintage, grapes were harvested when the balance between tropical fruit and greener notes was achieved, then handled using reductive winemaking techniques to preserve freshness. A small Semillon component adds softness and texture to the final blend.

Very pale straw with a youthful green tint and bright clarity.
Nose:
Gooseberry, melon, grapefruit and passion fruit lead the aromatics, followed by hints of fresh grass, green pepper and subtle citrus leaf.
Palate:
Light- to medium-bodied with lively acidity and a crisp, fruit-driven profile. Flavours of grapefruit, tropical fruit and green melon are supported by a rounded texture from the Semillon portion. Fresh, clean and easy to enjoy.
Finish:
Refreshing and zesty, finishing with citrus peel and a gentle herbal lift.
