Glenfarclas Distillery, located in Ballindalloch in Scotland’s Speyside region, remains one of the few independently owned and family-run whisky distilleries in Scotland. Owned by the Grant family since 1865, the distillery has built its reputation on a traditional production style centred around direct-fired stills and extensive maturation in sherry casks.
The Glenfarclas 30-Year-Old Warehouse Edition celebrates this heritage with packaging inspired by the distillery’s iconic red warehouse doors. Matured for three decades in predominantly Oloroso sherry casks, the whisky reflects the rich, full-bodied style that has become synonymous with Glenfarclas. Long ageing softens the spirit while allowing layers of dried fruit, spice and oak to develop naturally over time.
Colour:
Deep amber with rich gold highlights and excellent clarity.
Nose:
Complex aromas of gingerbread, glacé cherries, candied orange peel and warm baking spice emerge first, followed by hints of dark chocolate, marzipan and polished oak.
Palate:
Rich and layered with flavours of brown sugar, fruitcake, cinnamon and dried fruit. Notes of almond biscuit, bitter chocolate and sherried oak develop gradually, supported by a smooth, rounded texture that carries the whisky’s age with elegance rather than heaviness.
Finish:
Long, warming and gently spicy, with lingering notes of clove, oak, dark chocolate and subtle anise.

Mature hard cheeses, dark chocolate tart, pecan pie or sticky toffee pudding all complement the whisky’s sherried sweetness and oak spice. It also works beautifully alongside roasted venison, smoked duck or beef short rib, where the whisky’s depth and dried fruit character can stand comfortably beside richer savoury flavours. For a simpler pairing, roasted almonds, walnuts and dried figs bring out the whisky’s softer nutty and fruit-driven notes.
