Ken Forrester Wines is situated on the slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa's most celebrated wine regions. The FMC is sourced primarily from a dryland bush-vine vineyard planted in 1974 on well-drained Clovelly soils, where naturally low yields produce intensely flavoured fruit. Harvested over multiple selective pickings, the grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts in large French oak barrels before careful barrel selection creates the final blend. The result is a wine that reflects both the remarkable vineyard site and the estate's long-standing commitment to producing benchmark South African Chenin Blanc. Colour: Bright golden straw with youthful brilliance and a subtle green edge. Nose: Ripe apricot, baked quince and pineapple lead the aromas, followed by notes of honey, vanilla, citrus peel and delicate baking spice from well-integrated oak. Palate: Full-bodied yet lively, with a silky texture supported by vibrant natural acidity. Concentrated stone fruit, baked apple and citrus mingle with hints of ginger, creme brulee and subtle oak, creating impressive depth without feeling heavy.
