The Earth Beneath Our Feetis a small South African wine project focused on expressing vineyard character through thoughtful, minimal-intervention winemaking. Working closely with growers across carefully selected vineyard sites, the philosophy centres on sustainability, dryland farming where possible, and allowing each vineyard's soil and climate to shape the final wine. The Earth Beneath Our Feet Blanc 2023 is produced from a blend of Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and Grenache Blanc sourced from Franschhoek and surrounding coastal vineyards. Fermentation and elevage are handled with restraint to preserve freshness, texture and varietal clarity rather than overt winemaking influence. The result is a layered white blend that combines bright fruit with savoury complexity and a subtle mineral edge. Colour: Medium lemon straw with bright clarity and a youthful sheen. Nose: Aromatic layers of green apple, pear and citrus peel lead the nose, followed by notes of dried apricot, white peach, pineapple and subtle floral lift. Gentle honeyed and waxy nuances add further complexity. Palate: Fresh and textured with flavours of stone fruit, citrus and ripe orchard fruit carried by lively acidity. The Chenin Blanc provides energy and structure, while the Roussanne and Grenache Blanc contribute breadth and a rounded mouthfeel. The wine remains focused and dry despite its generous fruit profile. Finish: Long, clean and gently savoury with lingering citrus, peach skin and a faint waxy minerality.
