Crafted by Charles Withington, Voorkamer VSOP Cape Brandy is a small-batch South African potstill expression that celebrates the gentle aromatics and layered texture Cape Brandy can offer. Its name - “Voorkamer” (Afrikaans for “front room”) - nods to the spirit’s inviting nature, perfect for relaxed sipping with friends. Aged for eight years in a balanced combination of fourth-fill French oak and bourbon barrels, this VSOP captures both the warmth of oak maturation and varietal purity from 100% Colombar base spirit.
Colour: Golden amber, reflecting extended oak ageing.
Nose: Gently floral with soft orchard fruit, light honeyed notes and toasted nut undertones - inviting and refined.
Palate: Smooth and rounded, with dried peach, vanilla and walnut characters complemented by subtle sweet spice, layered sweetness and a creamy texture.
Finish: Warm, lingering and well-balanced, with delicate oak echoes and gentle persistence that reward slow sipping.
