Waterkloof Beeskamp Sauvignon Blanc 2024
Sauvignon Blanc
Description
Waterkloof Estate is perched on the Schapenberg hills overlooking False Bay in Stellenbosch, where strong maritime influence and elevated vineyards create ideal conditions for fresh, naturally balanced wines. The estate has become particularly well known for its biodynamic and organic farming philosophy, with a strong emphasis on soil health, biodiversity and minimal intervention in both vineyard and cellar.
The Beeskamp Sauvignon Blanc is named after one of the estate’s vineyard blocks and reflects Waterkloof’s restrained, site-driven approach to Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes are harvested by hand from vineyards exposed to cooling ocean breezes, helping preserve acidity and aromatic detail. Winemaking is intentionally gentle, allowing the variety’s natural freshness and mineral character to remain at the forefront rather than relying on overt tropical fruit or excessive cellar manipulation.
Colour:
Pale straw with bright green highlights.
Nose:
Lifted aromas of lime zest, gooseberry and green apple lead the nose, followed by subtle notes of fynbos, fresh herbs and crushed stone. Hints of white peach and citrus blossom add softness and complexity.
Palate:
Crisp and energetic, with flavours of lemon, grapefruit and green melon layered over a distinctly mineral backbone. The acidity is bright but well integrated, giving freshness without sharpness. The palate remains focused and dry, with a textured mid-palate that adds depth to the wine’s lighter frame.
Finish:
Clean, saline and persistent, with lingering citrus and herbal notes carrying through the finish.

Waterkloof Beeskamp Sauvignon Blanc 2024
- Food Pairing : Waterkloof Beeskamp Sauvignon Blanc 2024 pairs naturally with lighter dishes that highlight freshness and clean flavours. Grilled line fish, fresh oysters or sushi work particularly well alongside the wine’s saline mineral edge, while goat’s cheese salads and asparagus-based dishes complement its herbal and citrus character. The bright acidity also makes it well suited to peri-peri chicken, summer vegetables or creamy seafood pasta, where the wine can refresh the palate without overpowering the food.
