Villiera Tradition Brut Rose NV Magnum 1.5L
Cap Classique
Description
Produced by Villiera Wines in Stellenbosch, the Tradition Brut Rosé NV reflects the estate’s long-standing commitment to Cap Classique production and sustainable farming. The Grier family has been farming at Villiera since the 1980s, helping establish the estate as one of South Africa’s respected sparkling wine producers. Situated in the Bottelary Hills area of Stellenbosch, the vineyards benefit from cooling maritime influences and varied soils that support slow, even ripening - particularly important for sparkling wine production.
Villiera follows the traditional Méthode Cap Classique approach, where the secondary fermentation takes place in bottle to build texture and complexity. The Tradition Brut Rosé is crafted primarily from Pinot Noir with Chardonnay adding freshness and structure. Extended lees ageing contributes creaminess and finesse, while the magnum format allows the wine to mature more slowly and gracefully, making it especially suited to celebrations and shared occasions.
Colour:
Delicate salmon pink with a persistent stream of fine bubbles.
Nose:
Fresh strawberries, raspberries and red cherries lead the aromatics, supported by hints of rose petal, citrus peel and subtle biscuit notes from lees ageing.
Palate:
Lively and refreshing, with bright red berry fruit balanced by crisp acidity and a creamy mousse. The Pinot Noir brings gentle texture and fruit weight, while Chardonnay adds lift and precision. The wine feels dry and composed rather than overly fruity.
Finish:
Clean and elegant, finishing with lingering strawberry, citrus and lightly toasted notes.

- Food Pairing : The Villiera Tradition Brut Rosé NV Magnum is a versatile sparkling wine that works naturally with lighter, celebratory dishes and relaxed entertaining. Smoked salmon canapés, sushi and fresh oysters complement the wine’s acidity and fine mousse, while berry salads or duck with a subtle fruit glaze bring out its red fruit character. It also pairs comfortably with creamy cheeses, charcuterie boards and summer-style lunches where freshness and texture matter more than richness. The magnum format makes it especially well suited to sharing around the table or at larger gatherings.
