Tanagra Distillery is a small, family-run estate situated near the village of McGregor in the Breede River Valley of the Western Cape. Founded by Robert and Anette Rosenbach, the estate combines boutique winemaking with traditional European-style distillation, producing handcrafted spirits in small batches.
The distillery focuses on fruit brandies and grappas made using classic methods. Tanagra Grappa is distilled from grape pomace - the skins, pulp and seeds left after pressing grapes for wine. Using copper pot stills and careful distillation techniques, the spirit captures the aromatic character of the grapes while producing a clean, structured grappa that reflects the estate’s commitment to traditional craftsmanship.
