Tamdhu 12yr Speyside Single Malt

Tamdhu Distillery sits on the banks of the River Spey in Scotland’s Speyside whisky region, an area widely known for producing elegant, fruit-forward single malts. Established in 1897, Tamdhu has long focused on a distinctive maturation philosophy centred entirely on sherry-seasoned oak casks.

Unlike many distilleries that combine different cask types, Tamdhu matures its whisky exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks sourced from Spain. These casks play a defining role in shaping the whisky’s character, contributing layers of dried fruit, spice and rich oak complexity. The Tamdhu 12-Year-Old is matured entirely in these casks for twelve years before bottling, resulting in a whisky that highlights both Speyside elegance and the depth that sherry wood can provide.

Colour:
Deep amber with warm copper highlights.

Nose:
Aromatic and inviting with notes of dried apricot, raisins and candied orange peel. Hints of vanilla, cinnamon and toasted oak add warmth and complexity.

Palate:
Full and rounded with flavours of dried fruit, caramel and roasted nuts. Rich sherry sweetness is balanced by gentle spice and a smooth malt backbone, creating a layered and approachable profile.

Finish:
Long and warming, with lingering notes of dried fruit, vanilla and soft oak spice.
