Stellenbosch Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 is produced by The Stellenbosch Collection, a project founded by Jean Engelbrecht, the long-time owner of Rust en Vrede Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Drawing on decades of experience working with Stellenbosch vineyards and Cabernet-based wines, Engelbrecht created the Stellenbosch Reserve range to showcase the character and diversity of the region through accessible, classically styled wines.
Fruit for the Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from carefully selected vineyards across Stellenbosch, where warm summer days and cooling maritime influences from False Bay allow Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen fully while retaining structure and freshness. The regionâs decomposed granite and clay-rich soils help produce wines with depth, firm tannins and the distinctive cassis and herbal notes that have become a hallmark of Stellenbosch Cabernet.
In the cellar, the winemaking approach follows a classic philosophy: careful fermentation to preserve fruit purity, followed by measured oak maturation to build structure and complexity without overwhelming the varietal character. The aim is a Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects the confidence and reliability for which Stellenbosch wines are known.
