The Snow Mountain Reserve Malbec 2023 follows a more classical interpretation of the variety, favouring dark fruit, freshness, and spice over excessive extraction. The warmer inland conditions help the grapes achieve full ripeness, while careful cellar handling preserves balance and drinkability.
Colour:
Deep ruby-purple with dense colour concentration and a youthful rim.
Nose:
Blackberry, dark plum, and black cherry lead the aromatics, followed by hints of violet, cocoa, and cracked black pepper. A subtle smoky note adds depth without overpowering the fruit.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with smooth tannins and generous dark fruit at the core. Blackberry and mulberry flavours are layered with gentle spice and a touch of savoury earthiness. The wine remains approachable and rounded, with enough acidity to keep the palate fresh.
Finish:
Soft and lingering, finishing with ripe black fruit and a lightly peppery edge.
