This Six Dogs Distillery X.O. Pot Still Brandy is a handcrafted South African brandy thoughtfully blended from some of the country’s finest aged spirit components. It starts with base brandies distilled from Chenin Blanc and Colombard grapes from the Western Cape, each double-distilled in traditional copper pot stills and matured for a minimum of ten years in small French oak barrels. A touch of raw fynbos honey - hand-harvested from the distillery’s own hives - is added to soften the blend and accentuate its warm aromatic character. The result is a complex yet approachable expression that appeals to both seasoned brandy drinkers and curious newcomers.
Colour: Deep amber with warm golden highlights, hinting at extended oak ageing.
Nose: Opens with inviting aromas of ripe peaches and apricots, orange peel citrus zest and subtle coconut, rounded by faint floral honey and dried fruit complexity.
Palate: Silky smooth with layered dried fruit - passion fruit, dates and fig - accented by delicate oak spice and honeyed warmth. The influence of extended French oak maturation brings gentle vanilla and toasted notes without heaviness.
Finish: A lingering, warm aftertaste where honeyed fruit and spice dance together, leaving a softly rounded impression.
