Saxenburg Wine Farm lies on the Polkadraai Hills in Stellenbosch, a cool-to-moderate sector of the Cape that lends structure and freshness to classic red varieties. The estate blends Swiss heritage with Cape terroir - marrying Bordeaux-inspired styles with local fruit intensity. The 2023 Guinea Fowl Red is part of Saxenburg’s accessible collection, crafted to be expressive and versatile. Grapes are picked at optimal ripeness, fermented using open-top tanks and matured in oak to soften tannins and add subtle spice - all without overshadowing the wine’s core fruit expression.

Aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry and plum are complemented by hints of aromatic herbs, mulberry and rhubarb, with a touch of cigar box and dark chocolate complexity.
