Description
Saronsberg Wine Cellar lies in the Tulbagh Valley, surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges that create a distinctive microclimate for viticulture. The vineyards benefit from warm daytime temperatures tempered by cooling mountain breezes and varied shale-based soils, helping the grapes achieve both ripeness and natural freshness. Since its establishment in the early 2000s, Saronsberg has built a reputation for Shiraz-focused wines that combine ripe fruit character with structure and finesse.
The Saronsberg Shiraz Rosé 2024 reflects the estate’s meticulous approach in both vineyard and cellar. The grapes were hand-harvested in the cool early morning, chilled before sorting, and gently handled to preserve delicate aromatics and colour. A portion of juice from fully ripe Shiraz was blended back for added texture and mid-palate weight, resulting in a rosé that feels more layered and serious than many lighter styles while still remaining vibrant and refreshing.
Colour:
Rose-petal pink with delicate salmon hues and brilliant clarity in the glass.
Nose:
Fresh plum, raspberry and cherry aromas lead the nose, followed by hints of strawberry, soft florals and subtle spice.
Palate:
Juicy and well-balanced, with red berry and cherry fruit supported by crisp acidity and a gently rounded texture. The Shiraz brings a touch of savoury depth and structure, giving the wine more presence than a simple poolside rosé while maintaining freshness and drinkability.
Finish:
Clean and lively, with lingering red fruit, delicate spice and a fresh, dry finish.

Saronsberg Shiraz Rosé 2024
- Food Pairing : Saronsberg Shiraz Rosé 2024 is particularly versatile at the table thanks to its combination of freshness and subtle texture. It pairs naturally with grilled prawns, sushi and salmon dishes, while the wine’s juicy red fruit also works well with charcuterie, herb-roasted chicken and summer salads. Its dry finish and gentle savoury edge make it a good match for lightly spiced Asian dishes and Mediterranean-style sharing plates where freshness and balance are more important than heavy richness.
