Founded in 1791, Nederburg is one of South Africa’s most recognised and historic wine estates, situated in the Paarl region of the Western Cape. Paarl’s Mediterranean climate, with warm days moderated by cooling breezes from the Atlantic Ocean, allows grapes to ripen fully while retaining the acidity needed for quality sparkling wine.
The Nederburg Brut Chardonnay Pinot Noir MCC 2016 is produced in the traditional Méthode Cap Classique style, the same bottle-fermented method used in Champagne. Chardonnay contributes freshness and citrus purity, while Pinot Noir adds structure and subtle red fruit character. Extended maturation on the lees builds complexity and a fine, persistent mousse, reflecting Nederburg’s long-standing commitment to balancing classic European technique with the expressive fruit of the Cape.

Pale straw with fine, persistent streams of bubbles and a bright, lively rim.
Nose:
Aromas of green apple, lemon zest and white peach lead, followed by subtle notes of brioche, toasted almonds and a hint of citrus blossom from time spent on the lees.
Palate:
Crisp and refreshing with flavours of apple, pear and citrus layered over gentle biscuit and nutty complexity. The mousse is fine and creamy, while the acidity keeps the wine lively and well structured.
Finish:
Clean and lingering, with citrus freshness and a delicate touch of toasted brioche.
