Mullineux Kloof Street Chenin Blanc 2024
Chenin Blanc
Description
Produced by Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines, the Kloof Street range captures the energy and drinkability of Swartland fruit while staying true to the region’s dryland character. Chris and Andrea Mullineux have become some of South Africa’s most respected winemakers through their focus on terroir-driven wines, sustainable farming, and minimal-intervention cellar work.
The Kloof Street Chenin Blanc is sourced from Swartland vineyards rooted in decomposed granite and schist soils, where warm days and cooling evening conditions help develop both ripe fruit and natural acidity. The winemaking approach prioritises freshness and texture over overt oak influence, resulting in a wine that feels expressive, balanced, and distinctly regional.
Colour:
Pale straw with bright green flashes and youthful clarity.
Nose:
Fresh pear, yellow apple, and white peach lead the aromatics, followed by citrus blossom, honeydew melon, and subtle notes of wet stone and spice.
Palate:
Medium-bodied with a lively, textured mouthfeel. Stone fruit and citrus sit at the core, supported by crisp acidity and a faint savoury edge typical of Swartland Chenin Blanc. There’s good concentration without heaviness, giving the wine both immediacy and structure.
Finish:
Clean and persistent, finishing with citrus peel, orchard fruit, and a lightly mineral freshness.

- Food Pairing : Mullineux Kloof Street Chenin Blanc 2024 is particularly versatile at the table thanks to its balance of texture and acidity. It works beautifully with grilled yellowtail, roast chicken with lemon and herbs, or creamy pasta with mushrooms and parmesan, where the wine’s freshness keeps richer flavours in check. It also pairs naturally with Cape Malay seafood curry, as the ripe fruit softens gentle spice while the acidity keeps the palate refreshed.
