Description
Nestled against the foothills of the Simonsberg mountain between Stellenbosch and Paarl, Marianne Wine Estate combines South African terroir with a strong French winemaking influence. Founded by French owners with deep ties to Bordeaux and Provence, the estate focuses on wines that favour elegance, freshness and food-friendliness rather than overt ripeness.
Marianne Rosé 2024 draws inspiration from the dry rosé styles of southern France, blending Grenache Noir, Syrah and Mourvèdre sourced from vineyards cooled by afternoon breezes flowing off the Simonsberg slopes. Early harvesting helps preserve natural acidity and aromatic lift, while gentle pressing and cool fermentation maintain the wine’s delicate fruit profile and pale colour. The result is a rosé that feels crisp, savoury and quietly refined, suited to both warm-weather drinking and relaxed food pairing.
Colour:
Pale salmon pink with bright copper highlights and a clear, delicate appearance.
Nose:
Fresh strawberry, watermelon and red cherry aromas lead into softer notes of rose petal, citrus peel and dried herbs. Subtle mineral and savoury nuances add depth without overwhelming the fruit.
Palate:
Light-bodied and dry, with flavours of red berries, pink grapefruit and white peach carried by crisp acidity. The texture is smooth and refreshing, while the Grenache brings gentle fruit sweetness balanced by the savoury edge of Syrah and Mourvèdre.
Finish:
Clean and lively, with lingering citrus zest, red berry freshness and a faint herbal note.

- Food Pairing : Marianne Rosé 2024 is an easy, versatile food wine that works particularly well with lighter Mediterranean-style dishes and relaxed outdoor meals. It pairs naturally with grilled prawns, salmon poke bowls or chicken skewers with lemon and herbs, where the wine’s freshness lifts delicate flavours without overpowering them. It also suits summer salads, charcuterie platters and creamy feta-based dishes, as the crisp acidity helps balance richness while the subtle savoury notes keep the pairing dry and refreshing.
