Lynx Wine Estate is a small, family-run boutique winery situated at the foot of the Klein Drakenstein Mountains near Franschhoek. This pocket of the Coastal Region benefits from warm days and cooling mountain influences, helping grapes achieve full ripeness while retaining balance and structure.
The estate focuses on small-batch production, with a strong emphasis on manual processes in both vineyard and cellar. Traditional techniques such as hand harvesting, punch-down fermentation, and careful oak maturation are central to the philosophy. The SMG blend - Shiraz, Mourvèdre, and Grenache - reflects a Rhône-inspired approach, combining structure, spice, and fruit concentration in a style that balances Old World influence with New World ripeness.

Nose:
Rich and savoury, with aromas of black cherry, plum, and liquorice layered with peppery spice, dried herbs, and hints of tobacco and oak.
Palate:
Full-bodied with a dense, textured mouthfeel. Dark fruit flavours are supported by notes of anise, spice, and subtle earthy undertones. The tannins are firm but well integrated, with oak adding structure without overwhelming the fruit.
Finish:
Long and warming, with lingering spice, dark fruit, and a savoury, slightly smoky edge.
