Loch Lomond 12yr Inchmurrin Single Malt
Whisky : Scottish
Description
Produced at Loch Lomond Distillery in Alexandria, near the southern edge of the Highlands, Inchmurrin represents one of the distillery’s more fruit-forward and aromatic single malt styles. Loch Lomond is unusual within Scotch whisky for its ability to produce multiple spirit styles under one roof, using a combination of traditional swan-neck stills and the distillery’s unique straight-neck stills. This flexibility allows the distilling team to create whiskies with distinctly different flavour profiles while maintaining a recognisable house character.
Named after Inchmurrin, the largest island on Loch Lomond, the 12-Year-Old expression is matured in a combination of bourbon barrels, refill casks and re-charred American oak casks. The result is a whisky that balances orchard fruit and vanilla sweetness with gentle spice and soft oak influence, leaning towards elegance and approachability rather than heavy smoke or intensity.
Colour:
Bright amber gold with warm honey tones.
Nose:
Fresh pear, green apple and peach lead the aromatics, followed by vanilla fudge, toasted almonds and subtle floral notes. Gentle oak spice and citrus peel develop with time in the glass.
Palate:
Medium-bodied and smooth, with flavours of orchard fruit, vanilla cream and honey layered alongside soft cinnamon spice and toasted oak. The texture is rounded and approachable, while the oak influence adds structure without overwhelming the fruit-driven style.
Finish:
Clean and lingering, with notes of vanilla, pear and warming spice fading gradually.

Loch Lomond 12yr Inchmurrin Single Malt
- Food Pairing : Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Inchmurrin Single Malt pairs particularly well with smoked salmon, roast pork or glazed ham, where the whisky’s orchard fruit and gentle spice complement savoury richness. It also works beautifully alongside mature hard cheeses, toasted nuts or desserts featuring caramel, apple or vanilla. For a simpler serve, enjoy it neat or with a splash of water to open up its softer floral and fruit-driven character.
