Situated on the south-eastern slopes of Stellenbosch overlooking False Bay, Journey’s End Vineyards has become known for wines that combine modern precision with a strong sense of coastal terroir. Cooling maritime winds play an important role in preserving acidity and aromatic lift, particularly in Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Franc.
The V-Series explores how individual varietals perform in Journey’s End’s unique vineyard sites. The V3 Cabernet Franc 2022 is produced in a polished but restrained style, with generous oak maturation supporting - rather than masking - the naturally savoury, herbal character of the grape. The result is a wine that balances ripe Stellenbosch fruit with freshness, spice, and structure.

Deep ruby with youthful purple undertones and bright clarity.
Nose:
Ripe cherry and blackcurrant aromas lead the way, followed by savoury olive tapenade, wild fynbos, cedar spice, and hints of cinnamon from oak maturation.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with fine, powdery tannins and a polished texture. Dark red berry fruit sits alongside subtle herbal complexity and a mineral freshness that keeps the wine energetic. The oak is well integrated, adding depth and warmth without overwhelming the varietal character.
Finish:
Long and composed, with lingering spice, black cherry, and a gently savoury finish.
