Hope Distillery was founded in Cape Town by Lucy Beard and her husband Leigh in 2014, born from a passion for small-batch distillation and a fascination with botanicals. What began as an experimental project quickly developed into one of the city’s best-known craft gin producers, operating from their urban distillery in Salt River.
Hope Distillery focuses on meticulous small-batch production, using traditional copper pot stills and carefully sourced botanicals to create distinctive gins. Each recipe is built around classic juniper structure while highlighting fresh citrus and aromatic spice.
The Hope Navy Strength Gin is a more powerful expression of the distillery’s house style. Bottled at a robust 58% ABV, it delivers heightened botanical intensity while maintaining balance and clarity - a gin designed to stand up confidently in cocktails.
