Warm days, cooling afternoon breezes and well-drained soils create ideal conditions for structured, age-worthy Bordeaux varieties. The Dombeya range honours the original farm name and focuses on expressive, accessible wines that still reflect the pedigree of the site. Fenix, the flagship blend within the range, brings together classic Bordeaux grapes in a polished Cape style that balances richness with freshness.
Colour:
Deep garnet red with a youthful ruby edge.
Nose:
Layered aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum and dark cherry open first, followed by cedar, tobacco leaf, dried herbs and hints of dark chocolate.
Palate:
Full-bodied and smooth, with concentrated black fruit at the core. Fine-grained tannins provide structure, while balanced acidity keeps the wine composed and fresh. Notes of mocha, spice and savoury oak add depth through the mid-palate.
Finish:
Long and steady, finishing on cassis, cocoa and subtle graphite notes.
