Strydom Vineyards is a small, family-run estate in Stellenbosch, led by winemaker Rianie Strydom, whose hands-on approach defines the style and identity of the wines. Together with her family, she focuses on small-batch production, where each vineyard and vintage is given careful, individual attention.
The Danièle Chenin Blanc comes from a single vineyard on the slopes of Simonsberg, where clay and decomposed granite soils provide both structure and natural freshness. Older vines and considered farming practices contribute depth without excess weight. In the cellar, Rianie Strydom favours a measured, minimal-intervention approach—using a combination of stainless steel, amphora and neutral oak to build texture while preserving purity. The result is a wine that feels deliberate and quietly confident, balancing precision with a sense of place.

Light straw with a subtle golden hue, indicating some development and texture.
Nose:
Layered and quietly complex, showing pear, apple, and white peach alongside dried herbs, naartjie peel, and a touch of spice. There’s a faint savoury edge that adds interest without dominating the fruit.
Palate:
Pure and focused, with a fine line of acidity carrying flavours of orchard fruit and citrus. The texture is gently rounded, with a subtle lees influence adding weight, while the overall profile remains tight and precise rather than rich.
Finish:
Bone-dry and lingering, with a clean, mineral edge and a softly savoury echo that keeps it structured and food friendly.
