Ernie Els Wines is located on the slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, where warm sunshine is tempered by cooling breezes from nearby False Bay. This combination allows grapes to ripen fully while retaining freshness and natural balance. Founded by South African golfing legend Ernie Els, the estate has built a reputation for polished, expressive wines that marry New World fruit character with Old World structure. Bright plum red with a youthful ruby edge.
Nose:
Black cherry, ripe plum and red berry aromas lead, followed by hints of mint, vanilla pod, cocoa and gentle oak spice.
Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with a smooth, supple texture. Ripe dark fruit sits at the core, supported by soft tannins and fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively. Notes of vanilla, cocoa and subtle savoury spice add extra dimension.
Finish:
Long and polished, with lingering black cherry, plum and soft spice notes.
