De Morgenzon DMZ Rosé 2025
De Morgenzon is situated on the higher slopes of Stellenbosch, where vineyards rise between 200 and nearly 400 metres above sea level. Cooling maritime influence, south-facing slopes and weathered granite soils create ideal conditions for producing rosé wines with natural acidity, aromatic lift and flavour concentration.
The DMZ range reflects the estate’s modern, approachable side while maintaining serious vineyard credentials. For the De Morgenzon DMZ Rosé 2025, fruit was harvested in the cool early morning, gently pressed and fermented spontaneously in a combination of stainless steel tanks and older French oak barrels. Lees maturation before bottling adds texture without compromising freshness.
Colour:
Pale salmon pink with a bright, luminous edge.
Nose:
Fresh strawberries, raspberries and red cherry lead the aromas, followed by subtle dried herbs, rose petal and a faint savoury note.
Palate:
Dry, crisp and medium-bodied with flavours of ripe red berries, watermelon and pink grapefruit. The Syrah component adds gentle savoury depth, while Grenache Noir contributes juicy fruit and softness. Acidity keeps the wine energetic and clean.
Finish:
Refreshing and persistent, finishing with red berries, citrus peel and a delicate herbal lift.
