Boplaas Family Vineyards, situated near Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo, has been crafting wines since 1880 and remains one of South Africa’s most respected family-owned wine estates. The warm, dry climate of the region, combined with cooling evening temperatures and varied soils, allows grapes to develop concentrated flavour while retaining freshness and balance.
While Boplaas is widely recognised for fortified wines and robust reds, the estate’s rosé wines show a lighter, more contemporary side of the cellar. The Boplaas Limited Release Shiraz Rosé 2024 is made in a crisp, dry style that focuses on purity of fruit and freshness rather than sweetness. Gentle handling and restrained winemaking preserve the bright red berry character and subtle spice naturally associated with Shiraz.

Bright pink with delicate coral hues and a clear, vibrant appearance.
Nose:
Fresh strawberries, cherries and raspberries lead the aromatics, followed by subtle white pepper spice and a light floral lift.
Palate:
Crisp and dry with lively acidity, the palate shows juicy red berry fruit balanced by gentle savoury spice. The texture remains light and refreshing, with flavours of cherry, cranberry and watermelon carrying through cleanly without heaviness.

Soft, dry and refreshing, with lingering red berry notes and a subtle spicy edge.
