Blaauwklippen Wine Estate is one of the historic wine farms in Stellenbosch with roots going back to 1682. Alongside its classic wines and potstill brandy offerings, the estate crafted this distinctive aperitif by blending wood-matured red Noble Late Harvest wine with Blaauwklippen’s own potstill brandy. The result is a richly flavoured fortified drink that sits between a dessert wine and a spirit-augmented aperitif, combining fruit sweetness with spice complexity. It reflects both the farm’s traditional winemaking heritage and a touch of playful innovation in spirit and fortified wine craft.
Colour: Deep ruby-red to garnet, glossy and full in the glass.
Nose: Warm aromas of ripe blackcurrant, chocolate and berry compote, lifted by spiced cinnamon, clove and gentle Christmas spice character.
Palate: Lush and silky sweet, with rich layers of dark fruit, vibrant berry sweetness and warming spice from cinnamon and holiday-style aromatics. The brandy presence gives warmth and depth without harshness.
Finish: Smooth and lingering, with sweet fruit and spicy notes fading into a mellow, gently warming close.
