Peter Falke Wines is situated on Groenvlei Farm on the lower slopes of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, one of South Africa's most respected wine-growing regions. The proximity to False Bay brings cooling maritime breezes that help the grapes ripen steadily while retaining freshness and structure. The estate follows a philosophy of expressing each vintage honestly, combining traditional winemaking with thoughtful modern techniques and a minimal-intervention approach. Careful vineyard selection, hand harvesting, whole-berry fermentation and extended maturation in French oak allow the fruit to remain at the centre of the wine while adding depth and complexity.
Colour: Deep magenta with a vibrant ruby rim, showing excellent depth and youthful intensity.
Nose: Generous aromas of blackcurrant, ripe red berries and dark plum lead the bouquet, followed by layers of raw cocoa, cinnamon, clove and subtle French oak spice.
Palate: This Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend is full-bodied yet polished, offering flavours of blackberry, cassis and juicy dark fruit supported by smooth, rounded tannins. Notes of cocoa, sweet spice and gentle oak add complexity without overpowering the fruit, while fresh acidity keeps the wine lively.
Finish: Long and velvety, with lingering dark fruit, cocoa and delicate warming spice leaving a satisfying, elegant impression.
