Deetlefs Wine Estate is situated in the Breedekloof Wine Valley, one of South Africa's oldest family-owned wine estates, with six generations of the Deetlefs family farming the land since 1822. Surrounded by rugged mountain ranges, the vineyards benefit from warm sunny days and cool evening temperatures, allowing the grapes to ripen fully while retaining their natural freshness and vibrant fruit character. The Stonecross Chenin Blanc 2025 is produced from grapes harvested from three carefully selected vineyard blocks on the estate. Each parcel is vinified separately using selected yeast strains to enhance Chenin Blanc's natural aromatics before fermenting slowly in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures. The individual components are then blended and matured on their fine lees before bottling, resulting in a wine that is expressive, fresh and approachable.
Colour: Pale straw with youthful green highlights and brilliant clarity.
Nose: Inviting aromas of Granny Smith apple, quince, melon, pineapple and ripe nectarine create an expressive, fruit-forward bouquet.
Palate: Crisp and refreshing with flavours of green apple, juicy nectarine and pineapple layered over a soft, rounded texture. Gentle minerality adds definition while the bright natural acidity keeps the wine vibrant and well balanced.
Finish: Clean and zesty, with lingering citrus, lime zest and a subtle mineral freshness that leaves the palate refreshed.
