Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate lies on the shores of the Bot River Lagoon near Hermanus in the cool-climate Walker Bay wine region. Constant ocean breezes and a long, gentle growing season allow grapes to ripen slowly while retaining bright natural acidity - an ideal foundation for Cap Classique. Unlike traditional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir blends, the Benguela Cove Cuvée 58 Brut Cap Classique is led by Sauvignon Blanc, creating a distinctive style that showcases the freshness and purity for which Walker Bay is renowned. Produced using the traditional Cap Classique method, the wine develops fine bubbles and subtle complexity while maintaining an elegant, fruit-driven personality.
Colour: Pale straw with a persistent stream of fine, delicate bubbles.
Nose: Bright aromas of green apple, pear and citrus are complemented by subtle hints of brioche, fresh herbs and delicate floral notes.
Palate: Light to medium-bodied with a creamy mousse and crisp acidity. Flavours of candied apple, lemon zest and ripe pear are balanced by gentle yeasty complexity, creating a fresh and refreshing style with plenty of energy.
Finish: Clean, vibrant and lingering, finishing with citrus freshness, delicate floral notes and a refined mineral edge.
