Situated near Stellenbosch, Spier is one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms with a recorded winemaking history dating back to 1692. Continuing a long-held tradition, Spier is a family-owned farm. The current owners acquired the farm in 1993 and continue to produce wines that are among the most awarded in the country. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, the trophy-winning Frans K. Smit White 2018 offers aromatic intensity, concentration, texture, and potential to age. A truly world-class white wine with elderflower, gunflint, peaches, and lifted notes of lime on the nose, leading to a weighty palate with a hint of grip and spice from maturation in foudre, balanced by a line of brightness.
