Blaauwklippen House of Zin Rosé 2026
Blaauwklippen Vineyards has been part of the Stellenbosch wine landscape since 1682 and has a particularly close association with Zinfandel. The estate was the first wine farm in South Africa to plant Zinfandel, and the variety has become an important part of Blaauwklippen's identity. House of Zin continues that story with a modern rosé that combines Zinfandel with a small proportion of Malbec. The Zinfandel comes from established Blaauwklippen blocks planted in 1991 and 2001, while the Malbec comes from a separate Stellenbosch vineyard block. The grapes are hand-picked and lightly whole-bunch pressed before cold fermentation in stainless steel, preserving the wine's delicate colour and fresh floral and fruit aromas. Post-fermentation lees stirring adds a creamy texture without taking away from the wine's freshness.
Colour: Delicate rose gold with a bright, youthful appearance.
Nose: Aromas of Turkish delight, ripe nectarine and fresh cranberry lead into citrus peel and delicate floral notes. The fruit is expressive but restrained, giving the wine an elegant aromatic profile.
Palate: Fresh and creamy, with juicy nectarine, cranberry and red-berry flavours supported by lively acidity. A subtle mineral core adds definition, while the time spent on the lees gives the palate a smooth, rounded texture. The finish remains bright and refreshing rather than sweet or heavy.
Finish: Zesty and clean, with citrus peel, cranberry and a gentle mineral note lingering on the palate.
- Food Pairing : Blaauwklippen House of Zin Rosé 2026 is a versatile partner for lighter, fresh dishes. Try it with grilled prawns, sushi, fresh seafood, summer salads, roast vegetable dishes or lightly spiced Thai and Cape Malay curries. Its lively acidity and citrus freshness work particularly well with seafood and creamy or lightly spicy dishes, while the ripe nectarine and cranberry flavours complement fruitier and aromatic sauces.
