Blaauwklippen 10 Year Old Potstill Brandy 500ml
This 10-year-old Potstill brandy comes from Blaauwklippen Estate, one of South Africa’s oldest working wine farms in Stellenbosch, where centuries of winemaking history meet artisanal spirit craft. The base wine - drawn from Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc - is double-distilled in an old copper potstill before spending a full decade in 225-litre French oak barrels. That long maturation in fine oak lets nuanced wood influence and dried fruit character integrate deeply with the spirit, resulting in a balanced, expressive Cape brandy rather than something merely raw or sharp.
Appearance:
Light amber with soft golden highlights - the hallmark of extended French oak ageing.
Nose:
Warm, inviting aromas of vanilla bean, clove spice and rich dried fruit lead, with hints of toasted almond and subtle oak sweetness.
Palate:
Opulent yet balanced, with layers of baked pear, raisin bread, toasted almond, caramel and gentle spice unfolding in a silky texture.
Finish:
