On the south-western slopes of the iconic Paarl Mountain, Landskroon has more than 150 years of winemaking heritage behind it, with five generations of the De Villiers family contributing to the estate's story. The warm Paarl growing conditions provide plenty of sunlight for ripe fruit development, while the estate's mountain setting adds a distinct sense of place to its wines. Landskroon's Sauvignon Blanc is made in a fresh, fruit-driven style, with the focus firmly on varietal character rather than oak. The Landskroon Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a dry white made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The estate describes the wine as fresh and expressive, with a tropical nose, a soft and elegant palate, refreshing acidity and lingering fruit character. It is a straightforward, approachable expression of Paarl Sauvignon Blanc that is designed to be enjoyed young and well chilled. The 2025 vintage also earned a Double Gold medal at the 2025 Gold Wine Awards, making this a particularly noteworthy vintage for Landskroon's Sauvignon Blanc. The award was judged specifically on the 2025 wine. The wine forms part of an interesting new chapter for Landskroon. In 2025, Van Loveren Family Vineyards acquired the Landskroon wine brand and operational cellar, bringing the historic Paarl property into another established South African family-owned wine business while retaining the Landskroon name and heritage.
Colour: Pale straw with a youthful greenish hue.
Nose: Fresh and expressive, with tropical fruit at the forefront, complemented by ripe citrus, green apple and subtle grassy notes. The aromatic profile is bright and distinctly Sauvignon Blanc without becoming overly herbaceous.
Palate: Dry, fresh and fruit-driven, with tropical fruit and citrus flavours carried by refreshing acidity. The palate has a soft, approachable texture rather than a sharply austere style, while the fruit remains vibrant and focused. The combination of ripe fruit and fresh acidity gives the wine an easy-drinking quality.
Finish: Clean and refreshing, with lingering tropical and citrus fruit and a gentle, lively acidity.
