De Villiers Graaff (Founders, ’88) grew up in the Boland, and attended Bishops from Grade R, boarding from Grade 1 through to matric. Following national service in the Navy and a degree in Viticulture from Stellenbosch University, he returned to the Hex River Valley, where he farms table grapes. In 2011, he joined the family wine estate, De Grendel, and in 2015 took over the reins from his father, David Graaff (Founders, ’56). Today, he continues the family’s longstanding agricultural and winemaking legacy at De Grendel.
Crafted from carefully selected vineyards cooled by Atlantic Ocean breezes, the Sauvignon Blanc 2025 is a vibrant expression of the Cape’s unique terroir. Slow ripening conditions preserve freshness and purity, resulting in a wine of remarkable elegance and balance.
Layers of citrus, tropical fruit and subtle mineral notes are complemented by crisp natural acidity, creating a refreshing palate and a long, refined finish. Bright and versatile, it is equally suited to fresh seafood, summer salads and light poultry dishes, making it the perfect companion for relaxed gatherings and memorable occasions.
