Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines from the world-renowned Stellenbosch region. Being one of the largest family-owned wine estates in South Africa the estate carries through generations of winemaking skills. The Stellenrust Stel Manor Barrel-Fermented Chenin 2021 displays lovely rich, spicy notes from both fruit and oak, including ginger, tangerine, and roasted vanilla. There is a good marriage of oak and mineral reductive flavours on a vibrant palate that has an intense, ripe-fruited core, but also finesse. This impressive white wine is a very good example of an ambitious, barrel- fermented style. The Stellenbosch Manor range pays tribute to the rich history of some of Stellenbosch’s best-known varieties, planted in the distant past, delivering wines of distinction and paving the way to South Africa’s future in wine.
