Capensis is a family of three wines dedicated exclusively to Chardonnay. The name Capensis is taken from the Latin word meaning, ‘from the Cape,’ and pays homage to its home in the Western Cape of South Africa, one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world. The Capensis Silene Chardonnay 2021 is a product of two mountain vineyards, the estate Fijnbosch vineyard and the neighbouring Nooitgedacht vineyard, which result in an aromatic explosion of lime, lemon, orange blossom, jasmine and spice. A tight palate of citrus and rich minerals drives a saline finish, light on its feet yet dense and long. A white wine to be enjoyed with rich fish, pork and poultry dishes.
